Population growth Taking the earths population from years past we can chart the rate of population growth. Going backwards at this same rate of growth the earths population bottlenecks a about 4,000 years ago. The same time of Noah's flood. World population growth rate in recent times is about 2% per year. Practicable application of growth rate throughout human history would be about half that number. Wars, disease, famine, etc. have wiped out approximately one third of the population on average every 82 years. Starting with eight people, and applying these growth rates since the Flood of Noah's day (about 4400 years ago) would give a total human population at just under six billion people. However, application on an evolutionary time scale runs into major difficulties. Starting with one "couple" just 41,000 years ago would give us a total population of 2 x 1089. The earth does not have space to hold so many bodies.
The oldest known The oldest known tree is the Bristle cone pine and is 4,300 years old. The oldest known reef is The Great Barrier reef which is less than 4,200 years old. Finally, the oldest known desert is the Sahara, about 4,000 years old. Why, if the earth is as old as they say, aren't there older examples of these things? We believe in a young earth which would be about 7,000-10,000 years old. So one might ask why these examples we used aren't older than 4,000 plus years? That's easy these things could not survive a world wide flood. they would have to start after Noah's flood, which took place about 4,000 plus years ago. Coincidence?
Gettng better? The law of evolution basically states that whatever is beneficial for a species is passed on and what isn't will be breed out. Survival of the fittest. Yet today we have more and more genetic disorders (over 1,300 and counting). We see an increasing amount of sickness, disease, and so forth. Some will use a longer life expectancy as a sign of evolution. We may be living longer, but we are not healthier. Also, longer life expectancy is only in developed nations. Take a look at the rising cost of health care, the need for more nurses, and nursing homes. Yes we have managed to keep people alive longer, but clearly our bodies have not improved. Could this be an example of devoltion, instead of evolution? Could it be God created a perfect body and we are increasingly getting worse? It appears so.
